The Sisterhood of Temple Rodef Shalom, Falls Church, VA, shares a traditional hamantashen recipe for Purim. 
4 cups flour
2 heaping teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon oil
Grated lemon rind

Prune Filling:
1 pound prunes
1 orange, sliced, with rind
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Rind and juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Poppy Seed Filling:
1 can poppy seed filling
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Hamantaschen

This hamantaschen recipe is always a favoriteat congregational Purim carnivals.
3/4 cup margarine, softened but not melted
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup orange juice
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pie filling, such as prune, poppy seed, lemon, etc.

Chocolate Filling for Hamantaschen (Gluten-Free)

This chocolate filling recipe is perfect for the chocolate addicts in your family. 

3/4 stick of salted butter (If using unsalted add 1/4 teaspoon salt)
3 oz. (1/2 cup) chocolate chips + 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate OR 3.5 oz. bar of 78% cacao
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon rice flour
